Examine Barriers to Love
What hinders you from seeing God’s image in every person you meet—a prejudice, a misconception, a misunderstanding, anger, jealousy? What hinders you from seeing God’s image in yourself—shame, guilt, pain, or lack of self-esteem?
Remembering We Are All God’s Children
Write the words Created in God’s image at the center of the mandala. In each of the outer circles, write the names (or a word to describe persons if you do not know their names) of the people you encountered today. Include your name in one of the circles. As you color each smaller circle, pray that God’s love will find a way into each person’s life—including your own. Download the intercessory prayer mandala.
Seeing in a New Way
Loving God, you made all of creation in your image. Open the eyes of my heart so that I can see your image in every person I meet. Every person is a child of God—even me! You make no exceptions. May I have eyes to see. Amen.
Living Out the Kingdom of God
How would your daily interactions change if you recognized God’s image in others and used this as the foundation for your conversations? How might this prayerful attitude help you to see and be the kingdom of God on earth?
