Benefits of Tools for Prayer
What benefit do see in using beads in prayer? How can they help you create a safe space to be with God? What other tools might help you create a safe space?
Explore and Hear God
Use your journal to explore what phrase or word you want to use with the prayer beads. You may choose a question (Are you with me, God?) or a phrase (I’m afraid, Lord; comfort me.) or a word (healing, peace, or trust). You may decide to try something different each time you use the beads. Whatever you do, use the beads to create a quiet space that will help you hear God’s words of healing.
Thanks for the Tools
Creator God, you offer so many tangible signs of your love, including prayer beads. I thank you for prayer beads and other tools that remind me of your presence, help me focus and listen, and guide me in offering my questions, pain, and requests to you. Help me to (fill in your own requests for God’s assistance).
